Pussukus Cattery 805 583 1970 How Pussukus Was Born Gwyneth was born in Great Britian into a home with a blue male British Shorthair already in residence. He was her continuous friend until she was seventeen years of age. After following a professional dance career in television and theater, Gwyneth married, had four sons in five years, and immigrated to California. Now it was time to get back to her real love of Cats. Gwyneth being English sought out an English breeder of British Shorthairs, and she was lucky enough to contact Jean Thawley of Jedi Cattery. In 1986, Gwyneth purchased her first British Shorthairs, a blue male and a blue female, from the fine Brynbuboo and Jedi bloodlines. Both of these cats quickly became Pussukus's first C.F.A. Grandchampions adding to Jedi Georgyporgys eventual D.M. These two cats went on to produce their own Grandchampion off spring, so Pussukus was started. The name Pussukus was put together by using the Engish nickname puss instead of kitty, then UK for United Kingdom, where Gwyneth and the British Shorthairs were from, and U.S. for United States, where the rest of the cats were acquired. The beautiful, airy, spacious cat rooms were added over the next two or three years as the cattery grew. The emphasis being on quality not quantity so Pussukus has remained small and clean. The cats' health and happiness are the most important factor. The large male quarters, with cozy sleeping area and open air views, are built in the interesting shape of a geodesic dome, facing the lawns and gardens with plenty of bird feeders hanging in sight. The female's patio room is also open to the air with views of the pool and spa area, where there is always plenty of activity for them to watch. In the house, one room has been turned into a nursery, tastefully decorated in pink with grey cats and kittens on the wallpaper. All litter boxes, food bowls and accessories are in pink. The kittens are born here and spend their first six weeks of life isolated from the rest of the cats of Pussukus. If you consider purchasing a Pussukus cat or kitten, you can be sure it has been raised with love, care, and responsibitily. The kittens at Pussukus are of high quality being bred to the British Shorthair breed standard; Gwyneth is a member of the C.F.A. breed council. Pussukus kittens are a high priority in Gwyneth's life since she is home all day helping to raise three young grandchildren aged five, three and two years. With small dogs also in the home, the kittens are well ajusted to family life when they leave for their new homes. Thank you for your inquiry. Only avoiding countries with quarantine laws. Our cats are Grand Champion lines; the main male is Grandchampion and a complete love, sociable to everyone who comes to see him. The females-dams are mostly Grandchampion, a few are Champion, and all are very, sweet and loving. Our Cattery has been featured on the Arts & Entertainment T.V. documentary "Cats." We have also sold cats to be used in T.V. and Movies here in Hollywood [45 mins]away. The directors find them sociable and trainable. Every adult is tested and negative for Felv. feline leukemia so your kitten will also be negative. We have no fleas, or fungus, the kittens are raised under foot in the home, in two large airy outdoor adjoining rooms. The rooms are cleaned every day. All young kittens are born in a light, large nursery in the house, until vaccinated. The kittens will receive two shots-vaccinations, for four feline diseases. We are home all day to care for cats and kittens. We come from Great Britain and have fine imports and American lines. It is a small cattery,the accent being on quality not quanity. We are producing GRC. type kittens, in Blue, Silver Tabby [spotted,classic]and occasional other colors. C.F.A. papers are given with all to register your kitten, however the difference in price depends if the breeding rights are included.
